The upcoming Patch 14.9 for Teamfight Tactics (TFT) Set 11, Inkborn Fables, brings substantial adjustments aimed at refining the current meta. These changes are currently being tested on the PBE (Public Beta Environment) servers and are subject to further tuning before the official release on May 1.

Early PBE Changes

The preliminary PBE changes, unearthed by tacticstools, provide insight into the potential modifications coming in Patch 14.9. These alterations, detailed in the Patch Rundown by game design director Stephen “Mortdog” Mortimer, are expected to undergo refinement in subsequent updates leading up to the patch’s launch on April 26.

Patch 14.9 Adjustments

Riot Games intends to tweak several fundamental aspects of gameplay to address balance issues and enhance strategic diversity:

  • Player Damage:
    • Base player damage is being adjusted to create more nuanced combat scenarios.
      • Base damage changes: Adjusted from 0/2/5/7/9/11/17/150 to 0/2/5/8/10/12/17/150.
  • Shop Odds and XP Costs:
    • The probabilities of encountering specific shop tiers and the costs of leveling up to higher tiers are being rebalanced.
      • Level Eight Shop Odds: Revised from 18/25/32/22/3 to 18/27/32/20/3.
      • Level Nine Shop Odds: Altered from 10/20/25/35/10 to 15/20/25/30/10.
      • Level Eight and Nine XP Costs: Adjustments to gold costs encourage more strategic decision-making in leveling up.

Encounter Changes

Certain encounters, including those involving Kha’Zix, Cho’Gath, Neeko, and Syndra, are slated for removal to streamline gameplay and create a more focused experience.

  • Reinforcements Timing:
    • The minimum time required for reinforcements to begin is being extended, adding complexity to battle dynamics.
      • Minimum time for reinforcements to begin increased from seven to 12 seconds.
  • Player Damage Rounding:
    • Player damage values will now be rounded up to the nearest whole number.
  • Base Player Damage Adjustment:
    • Base player damage is being recalibrated to fine-tune game pacing and combat outcomes.
      • Base player damage changed to 3/6/8/10/12/17.

Trait Balance Changes

The traits in TFT Set 11 are undergoing adjustments to promote strategic diversity and balanced gameplay:

  • Heavenly:
    • Heavenly bonuses are being reworked to provide consistent benefits regardless of star level.
      • Heavenly bonus no longer based on star level but for each Heavenly unit in play.
      • Heavenly bonus adjusted from 100/120/140/160/180/200 percent.
  • Ghostly:
    • Ghostly units will apply bonus damage to haunted enemies, with adjustments to improve clarity and gameplay impact.
      • Haunted enemies now take bonus damage from Ghostly units, not for each spectre on them.
      • Bonus damage modified from 5/10/16/32 to 8/14/20/36 percent.

Champion Balance Changes

Patch 14.9 introduces targeted buffs and nerfs to Set 11 champions across different cost tiers to diversify viable strategies and enhance gameplay depth.
