In an epic showdown, NAVI clinched victory against FaZe Clan, securing the title of the CS2 Major in the history books. The tournament, held in Copenhagen, witnessed NAVI’s triumph, marking the event as the third most popular in Counter-Strike history.

According to Esports Charts, the decisive series of the tournament amassed over 1.8 million viewers, solidifying its position as the third most popular event in Counter-Strike history. NAVI secured their second Major title, with player b1t becoming a two-time Major champion with two different Natus Vincere rosters.

The Grand Final: NAVI vs. FaZe Clan

The grand final of the Copenhagen Major extended to the third map, showcasing an intense battle between NAVI and FaZe Clan. Both teams managed to secure victories on their opponent’s map pick.

FaZe Clan fell short on Ancient, losing 9-13, while NAVI faced defeat on Mirage with a score of 2-13. However, the decisive map, Inferno, witnessed NAVI’s dominance as they emerged victorious with a commanding score of 13-3.

Most Viewed Majors in Counter-Strike History

PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 surpassed the BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023 to claim the fourth spot on the list of the most-watched tournaments. Notably, the top three most viewed events in CS history are all produced by PGL. The list now stands as follows:

  1. PGL Major Stockholm 2021: 2,748,434 peak viewers
  2. PGL Major Antwerp 2022: 2,113,610 peak viewers
  3. PGL Major Copenhagen 2024: 1,844,747 peak viewers
  4. BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023: 1,528,724 peak viewers
  5. IEM Rio Major 2022: 1,428,993 peak viewers

NAVI’s Achievements and Rewards

In addition to lifting the trophy, NAVI secured a prize pool of $500,000 USD. Furthermore, they received direct invitations to the BLAST Premier World Final and the Esports World Cup 2024, solidifying their position as one of the top teams in Counter-Strike.

Notably, Team Spirit had previously received invitations to these tournaments following their performance in IEM Katowice 2024.

Final Toughts

The grand final emerged as the only series to surpass one million viewers in its third match. Prior to this, the quarterfinal clash between Team Spirit and FaZe Clan attracted the largest audience, with 1.12 million peak viewers.

The semifinal series between G2 Esports and NAVI also garnered significant viewership, reaching a peak of 1.069 million viewers. It’s important to note that these statistics exclude Chinese platforms and are subject to updates for accuracy.
