The super week of the VCT Américas 2024 concluded with Wednesday’s matches, featuring crucial matchups for Latin American squads.

Following victories in their respective previous series, KRÜ Esports and Leviatán had the opportunity to maintain leadership in their respective groups by prevailing against LOUD, who are currently struggling, and G2 Esports, who are fighting for advancement.

Leviatán’s Triumph

The day kicked off on Breeze, Leviatán’s map pick, where they dominated the first half from the pistol round with a solid defense, leading to a 10-2 scoreline at halftime.

Despite G2 Esports managing to secure some rounds after the break, it wasn’t enough to stop Aspas and Tex, who closed out the map with a 13-6 victory. The match proceeded to Icebox, where the contest was more evenly matched with parity at the end of the first half. However, the tides turned in favor of the Samuráis, who leveled the series with a 13-8 scoreline.

KRÜ’s Dominance

The fate of the series was decided on Lotus, with Leviatán taking an early lead in the initial rounds of the match. Despite G2 Esports managing to make gains in defense, it wasn’t sufficient, leading to a halftime score of 7-5 against them.

In the attack phase, the Samuráis seized control from the pistol round, but Leviatán managed to halt their opponent’s aggression, closing out the map with a 13-9 victory. With this win, they become the first team to advance to the playoffs of the VCT Américas 2024.

In the second series of the day, KRÜ Esports started by winning the first round on their map pick, Split. However, LOUD quickly responded to take the lead with Saadhak leading the charge in the attack, leading to a halftime score of 7-5 in their favor.

Nevertheless, after the sides switched, it was La Rosa who seized control of the match, conceding only the pistol round to their opponent and securing victory with a 13-8 scoreline.

KRÜ Esports continued their dominant performance on Ascent, the map selection of LOUD, by establishing a significant lead from the pistol rounds, taking the match to the second half with a 7-5 advantage.

While the Brazilian squad managed to regain some ground in defense, La Rosa executed an unstoppable attack, seizing control of the game and closing out the series with another 13-8 victory.
