Undoubtedly the growth of esports is increasing. Proof of this is the VALORANT tournaments. This 2023, the VCT Champions has the largest prize pool in the game’s history.

VCT Champions 2023

The 2023 VCT Champions will feature several exciting matches between the best VALORANT teams. In addition, this year, players will be fighting to take home a share of the largest prize pool ever distributed in a VALORANT tournament.

The VCT Champions 2023 will offer a prize pool over double that of previous editions. This year’s prize purse amounts to $2.25 million. The team winning the championship title will take home $1 million for themselves, unlike previous editions where this million dollars had to be shared among the competitors. In addition, the other teams also take home a significant amount of money by having a much larger prize pool.

Prize purse distribution

The VCT Champions 2023 prize purse will be distributed as follows:

  • 1st place: $1 million
  • 2nd place: $400K
  • 3rd place: $250K
  • 4th place: $130K
  • 5th – 6th place: $85K
  • 7th – 8th place: $50K
  • 9th – 12th place: $30K
  • 13th – 16th place: $20K

With this prize pool distribution, all participating teams are guaranteed $20K. However, all participating teams aim to win the top prize of $1 million. On the other hand, it is important to note that only the first four places have a special prize. This is because they eliminate some teams collectively in the group stage and playoffs.

The sale of skins is not included in the prize pool

As mentioned, the VCT Champions 2023 will surpass the previous editions by far. It is important to note that the prize pool is just the beginning. Let’s remember that, as usual, in this kind of tournament. Different skins will be offered in the VALORANT store for fans of the teams to show their love for their favorite players. A portion of the proceeds from the sales of the skins goes directly to the teams.

In the first tournament in 2021, the Vandal marked the start of this tradition, while in 2022, the Champions Phantom and the Butterfly Knife kept it going. Now, with the two main weapons covered, we may see the Champions Operator in this year’s edition to keep this tradition going.

Whichever weapon is put up for sale, teams may receive a significant amount of money. Recall that, in 2022, the package that was put up for sale raised $16 million to split among the teams.

All VALORANT fans who want to see the best teams in the world in action should be on the lookout from August 3, the start of the tournament, until August 26, when the grand finale takes place.
