It has recently been reported that VALORANT’s Japanese Level 2 champions have been invited to the VCT. This is undoubtedly an excellent opportunity for this team to demonstrate their potential in the Tier 1 competitive arena.

Japanese level 2 champions receive an invitation to the VCT

According to information revealed by Red Bull Gaming yesterday on its Twitter account, the reigning VALORANT Challengers Japan champions SCARZ have been invited to compete against the best teams in the world. The Red Bull Home Ground organizers have sent a direct invitation for this team to participate in the VCT off-season tournament.

SCARZ players who fell just short of entering the top division in Ascension may still have a chance to do so, as the Japanese teams already part of the VCT may change their squad.

Recall that SCARZ qualified for the VCT Pacific Ascension event after winning the second Challengers Japan Split. However, the team was defeated by BLEED Esports, the Challengers Malaysia/Singapore champions. Undoubtedly, it was a hard blow for the Japanese squad that dreamed of reaching the top.

However, now SCARZ players have a new opportunity thanks to the invitation of Red Bull Home Ground. In this tournament, SCARZ will compete against the best international teams, such as 100 Thieves, Cloud9, and ZETA DIVISION, among many others.

Changes in the Japanese line-ups

After a dismal finish of the teams, DetonatioN FocusMe and ZETA DIVISION in the Pacific VCT, these Japanese teams are planning to make changes in the roster before the start of the 2024 season.

After a solid regular season and a great performance in the LCQ, ZETA DIVISION was kicked out of Champions 2023 after losing to Fnatic and NRG. While DetonatioN FocusMe had a very bad year. This team failed to win a single series in the three international leagues they participated in.

On the other hand, both DetonatioN FocusMe and ZETA DIVISION have opened their doors for open tryouts. This indicates that new players could debut in the 2024 season.

On the other hand, the SCARZ squad is in the process of change. Currently, the team has only four players who are actively playing. At the same time, Allen, one of the team’s two Japanese players, has moved to the inactive list and to free agency.

Without a doubt, SCARZ players have a great opportunity at the Red Bull Home Ground tournament to draw top-level attention, mainly from DetonatioN FocusMe or ZETA DIVISION, who are looking for new players.
