VALORANT: Cloud9 will arrive at the 2024 season without its star Duelist

Cloud9 will arrive at the new VCT 2024 season without its star Duelist. We are talking about the player Nathan “Leaf” Orf. This change in Cloud9 will mean a new beginning for both parties.

Officially, the VCT off-season between the 2023 and 2024 seasons has already started. At the same time, the transfer window in the main VALORANT regions has started. Currently, many teams are planning their strategies for the next season, and apparently, Cloud9 is among these teams. However, there are indications that Leaf, the legendary Duelist, will not continue to wear the Cloud9 jersey.

Cloud9’s star VALORANT Duelist VALORANT will not be in the 2024 VCT season

Many fans use the contract database to discover what changes teams are making. This way, they can see every move their favorite teams make in the off-season. According to information from the global contract database, Cloud9’s roster no longer includes Leaf or Jordan “Zellsis” Montemurro. For now, Leaf has remained completely silent about his current free-agent status. However, Zellsis has spoken openly about this issue.

It is important to note that removing a name from a team’s overall contract list does not mean he will leave the team. It may mean the player’s contract has expired, but he can legally sign a new one and continue with his team. An example of this situation was the case of Tyson “TenZ” Ngo, who was briefly off the Sentinels roster but re-signed a contract with the organization.

Some rumors suggest that Leaf’s case will differ from TenZ. Apparently, Cloud9 is taking a different direction heading into next season. In addition, other rumors claim that Francis “OXY” Hoang, a former G2 duelist, signed a contract with C9 earlier this week. On the other hand, rumors also suggest that former IGL Anthony “vanity” Malaspina is returning to the team.

Changes in the VALORANT squads

It can be said that both Leaf and OXY are quite particular duelists. During his time with G2, OXY only played with Raze and Jeff. At the same time, Leaf includes Neon in his pool of agents. Given the similarities of the agent pools used by the two duelists, if the rumor of OXY’s contract signing is correct, Leaf could certainly be on his way out of C9. Otherwise, C9 may have other plans and want to significantly change the playing role of one of the two Duelists.

On the other hand, it is also rumored that Leaf may join the former members of The Guard. This team has been without a main Duelist since the departure of Ian “Tex” Botsch.
