The live matches are scheduled for March 30th and 31st, with tickets set to go on sale later this week. This marks the first Rocket League arena event in Denmark. In addition to prize money, teams will also compete for RLCS points, which contribute to qualification for the Rocket League World Championship.

Organizational Changes and Format

For the 2024 season, tournament organizer BLAST will manage the RLCS alongside Epic Games’ FNCS (Fortnite) ecosystem. This operational change coincides with numerous format adjustments, notably the reduction of the RLCS compared to the previous season.

Tournament Schedule

In total, RLCS will host two Majors and the Rocket League World Championship in September. The overall prize pool for the RLCS 2024 season has also been reduced to $4.3 million, a significant decrease from the $6 million in 2023. This decision has been met with criticism from the Rocket League community and stakeholders.

Increased Viewership Amid Changes

Despite the criticisms, the new RLCS qualification format saw a considerable increase in viewership. Specifically, the EU Open Qualifier 1 peaked at 413,177 viewers, according to Esports Charts. This marks the second-highest peak viewership for a Rocket League esports event, surpassed only by the RLCS 2022-23 World Championship with 468,292 viewers.
