Overwatch 2 Junkenstein’s Revenge: How It Works and Tips to Win Every Match
16. October 2024 by Valentin Pasetti
The Halloween Terror 2024 event in Overwatch 2 is here! Alongside the new Junkenstein’s Laboratory game mode, the classic Junkenstein’s Revenge and Wrath of the Bride modes are available to play. Read on for our guide on what to expect in Junkenstein’s Revenge and how to secure victory.
What is Junkenstein’s Revenge?
Junkenstein’s Revenge is a cooperative game mode that requires a team of four players. You can choose from the following heroes:
Ashe
Cassidy
Genji
Hanzo
Soldier: 76
Torbjorn
Tracer
Widowmaker
Ana
Baptiste
Brigitte
Zenyatta
Once you assemble your team, your goal is to defeat wave after wave of zombie omnics. However, survival isn’t your only objective. As time passes, your team must eliminate different bosses while protecting the castle gate.
Junkenstein’s Revenge Bosses
Throughout the game, you will face the following bosses in order:
The Reaper
Junkenstein’s Monster
The Summoner
Dr. Junkenstein (the man himself)
The Witch
After defeating one boss, the subsequent bosses can summon previous ones, adding an extra layer of challenge. The bosses are represented by heroes like Reaper, Roadhog, Symmetra, Junkrat, and Mercy, meaning they retain their hero abilities and ultimates.
For instance, you might hear Junkrat’s RIP-Tire while Symmetra has her Photon Barrier up. Make sure to get past the barrier to take out the tire; otherwise, it can damage your teammates and the castle gate.
Guide to Winning in Junkenstein’s Revenge
Here are some tips to increase your chances of victory:
Utilize the Map Effectively: Take advantage of high ground if you’re playing as Hanzo. Place Torbjorn’s turret in strategic spots to maximize its effectiveness.
Manage Your Ultimates: Use your ultimates at key moments to turn the tide of battle, especially against bosses.
Protect Your Teammates: Stay vigilant for your teammates. If a player gets eliminated, they’ll have to wait to be revived, and higher difficulties are less forgiving. If all four players go down, it’s game over.
Keep Boss Summons in Mind: Remember that bosses can summon previously defeated bosses. The final battle is against The Witch, but she will be accompanied by other bosses, like Mercy. Ensure you eliminate the other bosses before focusing on the Witch.
Example Strategy: In our match, we defeated Roadhog and Junkrat before taking on The Witch, allowing us to secure victory.
Conclusion
Junkenstein’s Revenge offers an exciting and challenging experience for Overwatch 2 players. By forming a balanced team and leveraging the strategies mentioned, you can overcome each wave and defeat the formidable bosses. Good luck, and have a happy Halloween!
