The Apex Legends competitive scene has been affected after some important organizations left their teams. We now know that NRG, another major organization, is dropping its Apex team.
It has recently been announced that NRG is officially saying goodbye to the Apex competitive scene. NRG announced to all their fans the departure of Nafen, Sweetdreams, and Gild from their competitive team. It has also announced the departure of babynikki, the only Apez content developer left in the organization.
NRG abandons its Apex Legends staff
Undoubtedly, we have seen one of the most important organizations in the competitive scene quickly descend from the top. It can be said that the team had a steady start to the year and managed to finish second in the Split One Playoffs. In addition, the team managed to finish among the top 20 teams in the ALGS Championship and Playoffs Two. However, it is important to note that the team failed to win any LANs in the ALGS.
NRG Press Release
Yesterday, September 15, NRG published a statement on its X/Twitter account announcing its departure from the Apex Legends competitive scene. In the statement, the organization thanked its players and content creators who were part of the organization. However, NRG did not specify any details about the reasons for their decision.

Sweet’s statement
On the other hand, Sweet also published a statement on its X/Twitter account and mentioned that NRG’s departure was related to why other important organizations had previously left the competitive scene. Recall that organizations such as G2 Esports, Team Liquid, and Cloud9 had already left the competitive scene behind.
Many organizations have criticized Apex Esports and the ALGS for not offering much return on investment to organizations competing in the league. On the other hand, many organizations fear the ongoing “esports winter.” So many people think that is why NRG has decided to say goodbye to Apex Legends.
In Sweet’s statement, the player mentioned that the players, the coach, and the content creators are searching for a new team.

NRG arrived as one of the favorites of the LAN at the beginning of this year. Without a doubt, the community had very high expectations of this team. However, as the days passed, these expectations fell as the team failed to qualify in the top 10 in two consecutive LAN tournaments.
Despite not having had very good results this season, Sweet, Gild, and Nafen are considered elite players in North America. So it is likely that they will get a new organization quickly. In addition, it should be noted that several teams are rumored to be making some adjustments to their squads for the new season.
On the other hand, the departure of NRG should mean an important turning point for the ALGS organizers. We must remember that the competition benefits directly from the organizations that allow the competitive scene to be popular. Now, the fourth consecutive year of the ALGS is about to begin. However, it is unknown how NRG’s departure may affect the competition.
