Steamworld Heist 2 Officially Announced, Available August 8
Thunderful announced today that Steamworld Heist II is in development and will be released on August 8, 2024.
The new game trailer revealed during the showcase showcased SteamWorld Heist II maintaining the same turn-based strategy gameplay while unfolding in a lush tropical setting called Carribea.
Little Kitty, Big City: Explore a Quirky Neighborhood as a Cat
If you’re looking for another game where you play as an adorable kitty, Little Kitty, Big City is the game for you. Players explore a colorful yet quirky neighborhood as they venture through the stage on their way home, helping other animals they encounter and tripping up humans if they wish to cause chaos.
Little Kitty, Big City releases on May 9 for Nintendo Switch.
Atari Announces Yars Rising in Indie World Showcase
Yars Rising is a new side-scrolling platformer game from Atari. Gameplay appears similar to games like Metroid and Mega Man at first glance. With some stealth components, we see snippets of the protagonist Yar evading robotic enemies.
Yars Rising is coming later this year.
Refined Self: Timed Exclusive Arriving This Summer
Refined Self: The Personality Test Game is an exploration-based adventure game with many themes of self-discovery. Players control an android created by a now-deceased doctor. Throughout their adventure, players will learn more about the characters they control based on their choices and decisions, providing extensive replayability to see how the story unfolds.
Refined Self: The Personality Test Game arrives this summer as a timed exclusive for Nintendo Switch.
Sticky Business Heading to Nintendo Switch Today
Originally released last year for PC, this cozy and vibrant game has players running a small business where they create and sell stickers. Players can fulfill orders and listen to customers share testimonials about their purchasing experience.
Sticky Business and all released DLC will arrive today on Nintendo Switch as a console timed exclusive.
Antonblast Gets November Release Date
Announced at Guerrilla Collective Showcase 2023 last summer, Antonblast will arrive on PC and Nintendo Switch this November. Antonblast is a chaotic action platformer game where players will have ample opportunities to destroy enemies and worlds.
Valley Peaks Getting Switch Port
Valley Peaks is an adventure game where players climb mountains. Each mountain is a unique puzzle requiring different strategies to solve and reach the summit. Valley Peaks was first announced over a year ago as a PC exclusive, but today’s Indie Showcase confirmed that Nintendo’s hybrid console will also be a platform option.
Lorelei and the Laser Eyes Launching in May
Lorelei and the Laser Eyes, an action puzzle adventure game published by Annapurna Interactive, is set somewhere in Europe where players control a young woman who has become entangled in increasingly dangerous illusions. Its non-linear mystery will challenge players with new puzzles to solve, bringing them closer and closer to unraveling the mystery.
Europa Delayed Again, Demo Arrives Today on Switch eShop
Announced in 2022, Novadust Entertainment has provided a new release window for Europa, their 3D action-adventure platformer game from creative director Helder Pinto. Initially slated for release in 2023, the studio announced it was delayed until April 16. After the game missed its release date yesterday, today’s Indie World Showcase revealed a new release window sometime before the end of 2024.
While players will have to wait a bit longer, the studio announced that a demo would be available on the eShop starting today.
TMNT Splintered Fate: Timed Exclusive Arriving This July
Everyone’s favorite pizza-eating turtles are back in a new four-player multiplayer game titled TMNT Splintered Fate. This cooperative action game was first released on Apple devices last year, and players make their way through the streets of New York to rescue Master Splinter from the team’s archenemy Shredder.
Cat Quest III Launching This Year
Today’s indie showcase catered to cat lovers, as we have not one, but two indie games heading to Switch where you play as a feline. Cat Quest III is an action role-playing game where players traverse a 2.5 open world, battling pirates and seeking treasures. As the name suggests, this upcoming project is a sequel to two previous titles released in 2019 and 2017.
Stitch. Another Mobile Game Making Its Way to Switch
A relaxing puzzle game where you create beautiful embroidery patterns, Stitch. was originally released on Apple devices such as the iPad in 2022 before today’s announcement. More interestingly, developer Lykke Studios explained on their official website that they developed an internal realistic embroidery engine to help players “enjoy the feeling of playing with real embroidery thread” on their platform of choice.
Another Crab’s Treasure Receives Another Look Before Late April Release
Another Crab’s Treasure, a soul-shaped aquatic adventure game, has players controlling a hermit crab named Kril, who embarks on a quest to find treasure and use it to reclaim its shell.
Developer Aggro Crab announced in February that their second project as a team would be released on April 25. So today’s trailer is another glimpse players can see before the action role-playing game arrives on Switch, PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox next week.
