New Details Revealed About the Invincible Video Game

13. March 2025 by Ramiro Fernandez

Invincible has concluded its third season on Amazon Prime, captivating audiences worldwide. The animated series, based on the comic by Robert Kirkman, follows Mark Grayson as he discovers the shocking truth about his father, Omni-Man, the most powerful hero on Earth.

Given the show’s massive success, it was no surprise when Skybound Entertainment announced in April 2024 that an Invincible video game was in development.

Now, nearly a year after the announcement, new updates have emerged regarding this highly anticipated project.

The Invincible Video Game Is Still in Development

In a recent interview with Dexerto, Robert Kirkman confirmed that the game is progressing well. While he was cautious about sharing specific details, he expressed immense excitement:

“It’s amazing. I don’t even know how much I can say. I’ll play it safe and just say that, from what I’ve seen, I’m more excited than ever about anything related to Invincible.”

Additionally, the game’s development team revealed that approximately 30 veteran developers are currently working on the project. In their official statement, the studio emphasized their commitment to delivering a high-quality gaming experience:

“Invincible is being developed by a team of seasoned developers with decades of experience and multiple AAA titles under their belts. With cutting-edge competitive gameplay, premium production values, and the most advanced technical and online infrastructure, Invincible will launch under a premium model with multiple DLC expansions and special editions designed for all levels of fandom.”

“Whether in competitive or local mode, the game is designed to bring new stories to the Invincible multiverse, paving the way for future releases, expansions, new story arcs, and adventures for years to come.”

Will Invincible Be a Fighting Game?

While specific gameplay details remain scarce, the developers’ statements suggest that Invincible could be a fighting game similar to Mortal Kombat rather than an open-world or story-driven experience like the Batman Arkham series.

Key Features Speculated for the Invincible Video Game:

  • Multiplayer & Competitive Gameplay – The game may emphasize head-to-head battles.
  • DLC Expansions & Special Editions – Content updates are planned post-launch.
  • New Story Arcs & Expansions – Additional story elements may be added over time.
  • Veteran AAA Development Team – The project is in experienced hands.

Furthermore, Skybound Entertainment launched a crowdfunding campaign to support development. Originally set with a $50,000 goal, the campaign astonishingly raised over $400,000, highlighting the immense demand from fans.

Invincible’s Presence in Other Video Games

Although this will be the first standalone Invincible game, it won’t be the first time the franchise appears in a video game. Omni-Man, Mark Grayson’s father, was previously added to Mortal Kombat 1 as a DLC character.

Fun Fact:

Omni-Man was the second Image Comics character to be featured in Mortal Kombat, following Spawn.

The Invincible video game has the potential to be a major hit, especially if it embraces intense combat mechanics and immersive storytelling. With a dedicated development team and an engaged fanbase, it could redefine superhero gaming. Fans should keep an eye out for further updates as Skybound Entertainment continues to refine this ambitious project.
