The new season of League of Legends starts today and fittingly, Riot Games released the LoL Pls video in which new champions were teased.The champion pool will be expanded with a “hungry jungler” and an “artistic midlaner”, but not much is known about them yet.
In the video, the plans for the first half of the year were revealed and of course, we can expect new skin series and champion updates again, in addition to new champions. But before we can try out the two champions mentioned above, we can first expect Milio, a male Enchanter who uses fire, and Naafiri, a monster Darkin dog with a blade. A brother for Vladimir?
The two champions were briefly teased at the end of the video by Lexi Gao, Product Lead for Champions at Riot. Although not revealing too much yet, there are a few details about the mysterious champions.
The vampire-castle that’s associated with the “hungry” jungler has a rough and gritty look, worthy of a deadly but refined owner. Of course, in the world of Runeterra, the word vampire is easily associated with Vladimir, the fiend with a thirst for mortal blood, and his Purple Circle, an exclusive secret order of Noxus.
The castle and its hungry and ill-tempered inhabitant can then be easily assigned to the rocky outskirts of the Immortal Bastion, which probably makes them inhabitants of Noxus. But their hidden appearance and great hunger could mean that they have just awakened, bringing a power to Runeterra that even Noxus cannot handle.
A magical painter
On the other hand, the second champion that has been teased might have a calmer and gentler temperament. The artistic mage will take his place on the midlane and most likely use his talent with ink to paint a deadly future for his enemies.
Although it has not yet been confirmed by Riot, the tower painted by the artist can probably be attributed to Ionia. The embedding of the two trees at the entrance, forming a natural golden arch, and the solemn but peaceful atmosphere surrounding the building, point to the First Land as the mage’s region of origin.
However, it will be a while before the two new champions appear in the game, and until then we’ll have to be patient. In the meantime we can look forward to the supporter Milio and the midlane assassin Naafiri. But until then, the Rank Climb can start again!
