All the details of IEM Rio 2023 that the CS:GO fan community should know have been confirmed. ESL recently confirmed the tournament dates, the format, the prize pool, and how all fans can enjoy it.

After the success of last year’s CS:GO, Major IEM Rio, the tournament organizers have decided to return to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 2023. This year the best 16 CS:GO teams will fight to be crowned champions and take home the title.

Here we tell you all the details you need to know about the CS:GO IEM Rio 2023.

 

When is IEM Rio 2023 taking place?

ESL has confirmed that the tournament lasts from April 17 to April 23. In addition, the tournament organizers have informed us that the competitions will be held at the Jeunesse Arena stadium for the last three days of the tournament. Thanks to this, the whole community of CS:GO fans in Brazil can enjoy the event live.

Format of IEM Rio 2023

For this year’s IEM Rio, the format is as follows:

Group Stage: This tournament phase takes place from April 17-19.

  • The double-elimination format is implemented for the group stage, with eight teams in each group.
  • The top three teams in each group advance to the Playoffs. The winners of each group advance directly to the semifinals, the second-place teams advance to the quarterfinals, and the third-place teams as seeded teams.

Playoffs: This tournament phase takes place from April 21 to 23.

  • In the Playoffs, the bracket with single elimination will be used. The quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals will be played best of three.

As previously mentioned, for this year’s IEM Rio, 16 teams will participate and be divided into two groups of 8.

Prize pool for IEM Rio 2023

The 16 teams will give their best to grab a share of the important prize pool of $ 250K, which will be distributed as follows:

  • First place: $ 100k
  • Second place: $ 42k
  • Third place: $ 20k
  • Fourth place: $ 20k
  • Fifth – sixth place: $ 10k
  • Seventh – eighth place: $ 6k
  • Ninth – tenth place: $ 5k
  • Thirteenth – sixteenth places: $ 4k
