HONORIS – NEO and TaZ’ Org ceases operations

31. March 2023 by Andrew Williams

The news, of teams and organizations being disbanded, is piling up. Now HONORIS has also been discontinued. The reason for the end of the Polish organization HONORIS was, as so often, lack of funds. The two reasons NEO and TaZ have commented on the circumstances and explained that the project was no longer financially viable.

The Polish organization HONORIS, founded three years ago by Wiktor “TaZ” Wojtas and Filip “NEO” Kubski, has announced that it will cease its activities.

Foundation and history of HONORIS

HONORIS was created three years ago after the two players TaZ and NEO couldn’t find another team after the Virtus.pro line-up was disbanded. They decided to take things into their own hands and founded HONORIS. TaZ stated at the time that he wanted to pursue his own vision and create a team on his terms and his own responsibility.

HONORIS was a tier 2 team that managed to win several tournaments (including the ESEA Cash Cups, they also reached the finals of the ESL Polish Championship), but reached its limits to a certain extent and eventually stagnated.

Financial problems herald the end of the organization

The team was no longer bringing in enough money and financial problems arose. TaZ said the two long time teammates funded a lot of the organisation from their own pockets, he and NEO kept the team afloat: “We kept it together financially for three years. No coconuts were earned at HONORIS, but the players and staff always received their salaries on time and could count on the organization’s support.”

“Given the lack of sufficient funding for the coming years, we have jointly decided to end the activities of HONORIS in its current form.”

Turning to NEO, TaZ still said, “Finally, I would like to thank you, Filip. This time the goal was not achieved, but I appreciate that we gave ourselves and especially the young generation of players this chance. We tried to make this project according to our ideas, and I think we can be proud of it.”

Because of HONORIS’ disbanding everyone connected to the Org will be a free agent in the future. As of now, it is still unclear what path the players and coach will take from here on out.

The CS:GO line-up of HONORIS consisted of the following players:

Kamil “Sobol” Sobolewski
Dawid “lunAtic” Cieślak
Wiktor “TaZ” Wojtas
Dawid “SaMey” Stańczak
Kamil “reiko” Cegiełko
Filip “NEO” Kubski (substitute player)
Vincent “vinS” Jozefiak (coach)
