FaZe Clan secures sponsorship deal with Porsche

20. January 2023 by Andrew Williams

FaZe Clan has a new partnership and it’s one to be proud of, as it involves German luxury car manufacturer Porsche. Porsche and FaZe Clan actually go together quite well: both are brands that see themselves as status symbols, are known for their luxury flair, and are considered the “best of the best” in the industry.

FaZe Clan recently announced via social media that prestigious automaker Porsche will be joining the organization’s sponsorship team. Porsche is not an unknown sponsor in esports, they have already signed a three-year partnership between DRX and Porsche Korea 2 years ago. Then, early last year, Porsche announced its first Esport factory team and partnered with Coanda. Coanda was one of the most successful sim racing teams in the world, if not the best. This partnership resulted in the Porsche-Coanda Esports Racing Team, the manufacturer’s second venture into esports.

FaZe Clan gets Porsche as sponsor

Porsche x FaZe Clan, however, will be Porsche’s biggest step into the gaming world, as FaZe Clan is known to be one of the best teams in the world. The company will be the official sponsor of all FaZe Clan teams from now on and they will work on releasing digital collectibles. The CMO of Porsche AG, Robert Ader, had this to say about the new collaboration, “Porsche has been heavily involved in gaming and Esports for several years, with a clear focus on racing. We have found that FaZe and Porsche share similar core values in terms of performance and innovation. Through this unique partnership, we aim to inspire the gamer community to achieve their own dreams.”

FaZe Clan is also pleased to have landed such a great sponsor. Lee Trink, CEO of FaZe Clan, issued the following statement on the matter, “We’re thrilled to partner with a modern luxury brand like Porsche that, like FaZe Clan, pushes boundaries to expand its audience while consistently prioritizing the importance of community and innovation.”

Esports and luxury cars

Car brands collaborating with esports organizations is nothing new. 100 Thieves secured Japanese luxury car brand Lexus as a sponsor 2 years ago, with streamer Valkyrae even being named a Lexus Ambassador. Just before the Lexus sponsorship, the 100 Thieves had collaborated with the fashion house Gucci.

Like all brands looking to partner with organizations, Porsche hopes to gain a foothold in esports to appeal to a young audience, in the case of FaZe Clan, one that values status symbols and high-end products. The partnership, said to be the first of its kind, spans multiple media and will include a content series featuring FaZe members.
