T1 has announced its 2023 selection. The most important announcement was made on Nov. 28: midlaner Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok will stay with the legendary Korean organization for three more seasons.
After a crazy season, with an undefeated spring split and a final at the Worlds, people were looking forward to what T1 would do during this year-end transfer period.
Especially since the contract of legendary midlaner Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok expired in November. Expectations surrounding the future selection were high: fans couldn’t wait to find out more.
We can already say that their expectations have been met. Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok has extended his contract with the Korean organization for another three seasons.
The player, part of T1 for 10 years, continues his story hoping for another win at the Worlds.
Then again, the technical staff was thoroughly shaken up. For example, Kim “Moment” Ji-hwan left the technical staff. Bae “Bengi” Seong-woong, who was already on the board last season, becomes the new head coach.
He will be surrounded next season by Kim “Roach” Kang-hui, coach of the academy team last year. Im “Tom” Jae-hyeon, former PSG Talons manager and winner of the 2022 LPL Spring Split, is the other newcomer.

Other than that, nothing else would normally change about the selection. T1 is expected to play with the same squad as in 2022, including AD Carry Lee “Gumayusi” Min-hyeong and jungler Moon “Oner” Hyeon-joon.
We expect a lot from the Koreans for this new season. T1’s roster is more than good enough to be part of the future highlights of 2023.
