Pro Tour Revamp and Competitive Landscape

The ESL Pro Tour was revamped in early 2023, marking the return of DreamLeague as a major LAN event. Since this overhaul, the Pro Tour has hosted six major events, including four DreamLeague seasons and two ESL One tournaments in Kuala Lumpur and Birmingham.

Increased Competition

This announcement follows closely after BLAST, ESL’s competitor, revealed their entry into Dota 2 with BLAST Slam events planned for 2024 and 2025. Additionally, in March, PGL announced its intentions to organize at least eight major Dota 2 events from 2024 to 2026. Consequently, the competition in the Dota 2 scene has intensified significantly in just a few months this year.

Final Toughts

The ESL Pro Tour’s 2025 schedule offers a robust lineup of events that promise to keep the Dota 2 competitive scene vibrant and engaging. With the resurgence of DreamLeague and the strategic placement of ESL One events in Europe and Asia, ESL is positioning itself as a dominant force in the Dota 2 esports landscape.

As the competition heats up with new entrants like BLAST and PGL, fans and players alike can look forward to an exciting year of top-tier Dota 2 action.
