Details about the PUBG Mobile World Invitational

The PMWI held in 2023 will occur in a few months, specifically from July 11 to 16. The event will be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

A total of 24 teams will compete in the event and fight to win the title of world champion and a share of the prize pool. This year all the teams are fighting for a staggering $3 million; although for many people, this may seem like a very high amount for mobile esports, last year, the prize pool also reached that amount.

This year the PMWI will be part of an event known as Gamers8. This event will feature competitions of different titles, such as:

  • CS:GO
  • Fortnite
  • Dota 2
  • PUBG Mobile

The Gamers8 is a multi-game tournament held for eight weeks; it starts in July and will give a final in September. This event could signify one of the biggest events in the history of esports, as the prize pool of all the games reaches $ 45 million. It is important to note that a portion of the prize pool will help charities.

Teams for the PMWI

Several regional tournaments are currently being played to choose the best representative of each nation. Therefore, only the best teams are expected to compete in this year’s PMWI.

On the other hand, we must remember that the best teams of the PMPL would have a pass for this tournament; however, to date, Tencent has not made public how to distribute the event places.

PMWI 2022

Last year’s PMWI was held in two phases: the Main event and the Afterparty Showdown. The PMWI teams were invited to participate in both phases. According to the results, they won a place in the final phase; other spots for the final phase were in the hands of the fans, who were responsible for voting for their favorite team.

Last year saw Vampire Esports dominate each event phase and eventually become the 2022 champions.
