CS:GO reaches 1.2 million concurrent players, its best numbers since 2020

Valve officially launched CS:GO in 2012 and despite the initial reluctance of CS 1.6 or CSS players, it has managed to become a mass success that continues to grow despite the fact that many have wanted to bury it many times and that Valve, by the way, has also been slow in releasing new content or necessary improvements for its video game.

Despite the alternatives to Counter-Strike on the market today and despite the fact that many of us are still waiting for the version of Counter-Strike with Source 2, the truth is that the game is in one of the best moments in its history if we look at its number of players and, in fact, it has started 2023 in a form that can only be described as excellent.

Up to 1.2 million concurrent players in January

In fact, just yesterday CS:GO managed to reach a peak of 1,200,077 concurrent players on its servers, figures very close to the game’s all-time high of 1,308,963 players that was recorded on April 16, 2020, at the height of the pandemic with most of us in our homes, so this peak in players has even more merit.

The strange thing is that there is no special reason for this phenomenon to occur since no major update has been released, operation, nor has any map beloved by the community returned or anything like that, but it is simply a behavior that is usually replicated at the beginning of each year when the first big tournaments arrive such as the Blast Premier of which we shared you a jugadón the other day or the IEM Katowice.

What numbers would CS:GO reach if a new version with Source 2 was released?
