Cloud9 Signs Veteran CS Player to Revamp VALORANT Roster

1. April 2024 by Never

Cloud9, following their recent setback in the 2024 VCT Americas Kickoff, is gearing up for a significant overhaul of its VALORANT roster ahead of the first split.

The renowned organization has announced the acquisition of seasoned veteran Kaleb “moose” Jayne and Dylan “runi” Cade, formerly of Luminosity Gaming, as replacements for Jake “jakee” Anderson and Maxim “wippie” Shepelev. While moose and runi are set to embark on their debut journey with C9, wippie makes a triumphant return to the roster after his departure in late 2023.

A New Era Begins: Cloud9’s Talent Infusion

Joining forces with a trio of exceptional talents, including rising star Francis “OXY” Hoang and longstanding C9 member Erick “Xeppaa” Bach, moose and runi inject fresh vigor into the lineup.

The team’s leadership will be anchored by the seasoned in-game leader Anthony “Vanity” Malaspina, boasting a wealth of experience garnered from stints with Version1, Shopify Rebellion, and his tenure as a CS:GO professional.

Strategic Reshuffle: Cloud9’s Bold Moves

Cloud9 has a history of swift and decisive actions in shaping its VALORANT roster. Notably, in 2023, the organization made waves by parting ways with superstar Jaccob “yay” Whiteaker after a mere five months, followed closely by the departure of Vanity.

Ironically, Vanity now returns to lead the charge as Cloud9 fine-tunes its lineup ahead of the highly competitive 2024 VCT Americas.

Road to Redemption: Cloud9’s Path Forward

With formidable adversaries such as Sentinels, reigning VCT Masters champions, as well as formidable contenders like NRG and G2 Esports, Cloud9 faces a daunting challenge in the upcoming VCT Americas. The team must swiftly establish synergy and find their rhythm to secure a coveted spot in the next international tournament.
