Garena and Tencent Games have recently revealed some details about the next Call of Duty Mobile tournament. But first, we are discussing the Summer Invitational 2023, which will start in a few days.
The Summer Invitational 2023 is an Asian tournament where the best teams from Southeast Asia, China, and Japan are invited to participate.
Details of the Call of Duty Mobile Summer Invitational 2023
For the Summer Invitational 2023, 18 teams are coming to show all their skills. Two of these 18 teams are invited from Japan, eight from the Garena division, and eight from China.
The Summer Invitational 2023 allows all participating teams to test all their skills and know the team’s weaknesses. In this way, the teams can improve their preparation for the World Championship, which takes place later this year.
Format of the Summer Invitational 2023
The Summer Invitational 2023 will be divided into three phases:
- Play-Ins
- Group Phase
- Play-offs
In each tournament phase, the teams will be randomly divided into groups.
For the Play-Ins, the teams will battle in a best-of-three series format where the winning team from each group will advance to the next phase, while the losing teams will be eliminated immediately.
The best-of-five series will be played in the group phase, and only the best eight teams will advance to the knockout phase. This phase will be held from May 31 to May 11.
The knockout phase will be played as a best-of-seven series in a double elimination. The final phase will last ten days, starting June 16 and ending June 25. In addition, all qualified teams will meet each other in this knockout phase, as both the semifinals and the grand final will be played on a LAN basis in Shandong province.
On the other hand, it is not known at this time what the prize purse of the Summer Invitational 2023 will be. However, it is important to note that the COD Mobile Fall Invitational, 2022 was $65k, and that tournament was organized with Garena and Tencent Games; that is, the same organizers of the tournament will be held very soon.
Only the Garena region and China teams were present in the fall tournament. The Indonesian team ALMGHTY won the championship title after defeating the Chinese team Qing Jiu Club in a tough battle.
For the summer tournament, the organizers have decided to invite two Japanese teams, thus making the CoD Mobile Summer Invitational 2023 much more competitive.
Other details of the Summer Invitational 2023
The organizers of this tournament have announced that the Summer Invitational 2023 will also feature a special challenge for snipers. In this special tournament, 32 players will get to prove their marksmanship.
In the first phase, the 32 players are divided into four groups. Now, for the knockout phase, the best 16 are the ones that advance.
