Blizzard reveals programme of Overwatch World Cup 2023

Overwatch 2 fans are in for a treat next year. For Blizzard has announced the Overwatch World Cup 2023. The chance for the world’s best players to represent their country.

Blizzard has just announced the Overwatch World Cup 2023. The best countries in the world will compete throughout the year for a ticket to the grand final in the autumn.

Following this announcement, details of the competition were released. In January, Blizzard will reveal the 36 countries from different regions that may participate in 2023. The first regional qualifying rounds will begin in February.

The first qualifying rounds will be held via the World Cup Trials. That is an open round where all players compete to win a place on a local team. The winners can even qualify directly for the regional tryouts of the country or region they represent.

In March, all players with a Diamond rank or higher can try to qualify through the normal route. After that, the different regions and countries may finish their rosters. From June, they will participate in the qualification round of this new Overwatch World Cup.

Of the 36 participating teams, only 16 will advance to the Main Event in the autumn There, the best players of the competition will compete against each other. The best eight teams will advance to the playoffs and only one will be crowned the winner.

After a long period of absence, and a focus on the Overwatch League, Blizzard is unpacking the return of a popular league. The United States emerged as winners in the last edition, ahead of China and South Korea. The 2023 edition will undoubtedly be full of surprises.
