BLAST Slam III: The $1 Million Dota 2 Tournament Returns

4. May 2025 by Francisco Villafana

After a rare week without Dota 2 tournaments, the competitive scene is reigniting with the arrival of BLAST Slam III. Hosted in Denmark, this high-stakes event gathers 10 world-class teams battling for a share of a $1 million prize pool. Organized by BLAST, this tournament marks a key moment in the 2025 esports calendar.

Tournament format and prize pool distribution

BLAST Slam III will kick off with two groups of five teams, where matches will be played in a Best-of-1 format. Based on standings, teams will then move to the King of the Hill-style Playoffs.

The better a team places in the Group Stage, the fewer matches they’ll need to reach the Grand Final. The Playoffs are single-elimination, with Best-of-3 matches leading up to a Best-of-5 Grand Final.

  • Champion reward: $300,000 for the team, plus $100,000 for the organization

  • Total prize pool: $1,000,000

Group stage and match schedule

The Group Stage takes place on May 6, featuring 10 teams in fast-paced, single-day action. All matches begin at 10:00 AM CEST, with two games played simultaneously to maximize coverage and viewer engagement.
