Beastcoast Interview – Scofield: I wanted to win the LIMA Major

5. March 2023 by Andrew Williams

After Beastcoast’s exit from the Dota2 LIMA Major we sat down with them and asked them some questions about their recent campaigns and general thoughts about the scene! Since there is quite a bit to talk about we have separated the interview in some parts that will be released through the next days!

First of all, thank you guys for taking the time to answer our questions!

You have started the year of strong by winning the first DPC Tour undefeated, how does it feel?

Gonzalo:
“It feels good! Personally I expected this, since I feel confident with my team and think we are able to obtain good results”
Scofield:
“I didn’t expect it but it happened!”
Stinger:
“Before the DPC started I didn’t think we would beat them all, but when the games were about to start, I was so confident I thought we could beat anyone”

Our agressive playstyle is key

How would you rank Evil Geniuses after your match against them and what did you think when you were 9000 gold behind in your DPC game against them?

K1:
“They are very good, real gosus! But we never gave up and thought ‘Chill, we are tough’”
Rafael:
“They are great rivals and a very good team! When we were so far behind it was tense at the beginning but then we just had to keep calm, we were very patient and managed to win thanks to it”

How do you guys feel about your two new players? Have they adapted well or did you have to change a lot to accommodate them?

Stinger:
“We all did our part to become what we are now, practice and scrims helped to find the best style of play and Raykill and Valqui helped with this process”
K1:
“They have adapted, they played similarly in thunder so everything is normal and they are both clowns” (laughs)
Gonzalo:
“We adapted well, thanks to our unique aggressive style our carry can farm freely”
Rafael:
“Yes, we have adapted to each other and we combine both styles, we are improving more and more so that we become even better”

Scofield: I wanted to win the LIMA Major

Talking about the LIMA Major now, what were your goals and who do you think was the favorite to take it?

Gonzalo:
“We wanted to consolidate more as a team, which we achieved, but of course we would have liked to win! I thought Team Liquid was the favorite”
Rafael:
“I also think that doing the best we could was the main goal and that Team Liquid was the favorite”
Scofield:
“I wanted to win!”
Stinger:
“Being a team to fear after the group stage was important to me, always taking one match at a time”

Let’s see if Team Liquid can take it today! Of course we have many more questions coming up with Beastcoast, so stay tuned and follow us on social media!
