Overwatch fans will be able to start enjoying this year’s Overwatch League in a very short time. However, before that, they can enjoy how emerging talents battle each other worldwide in the Contenders competition.
Contenders are the pre-season competition that fans love as they watch the best Contenders teams battle against the veteran league teams.
Undoubtedly some very interesting duels to watch; that’s why today we bring you all the information from the competition schedule to where you can watch each matchup.
All the details of Overwatch Contenders 2023
Overwatch Contenders scheduled for Australia, Asia-Pacific, and Korean regions
For these regions, the tier 2 spring series started a little earlier than in the rest of the world. This is because these regions offer Pro-Am tournaments in different versions.
Now, in these three regions, the Open teams have qualified based on the results of the spring series. So right now, they must fight to see which teams make it to the Overwatch League, thus being able to face the top teams from the East division in the spring playoffs.
Then the summer series takes place in a few months, and the same process is repeated for the Summer Open. The first series is scheduled from late May to early June of this one, while the second series is scheduled for July 2023.
Then, in the fall, a third open division and a fall series are experienced; however, those competitions are not the same as the previous ones since the Contenders teams do not face the professional teams.
On the other hand, it is important to comment that in the spring series, all teams are fighting for one of the 6 Contenders spots in these regions.
All fans who want to watch the exciting matches of the Spring Stage Opens can do it through the official Overwatch Contenders YouTube channel. However, it is important to note that the Spring Stage Opens concludes in a few days, specifically on May 2.
Overwatch Contenders scheduled for the European and North American regions
The Spring Series for these two zones started two days ago, specifically on April 24. EMEA and North America will host competitions where Open Division champions fight against invited Contenders teams. The period of these competitions runs until June 10.
It can be said that many teams participating this season already have experience competing against each other in both the European and North American regions.
On the other hand, it is important to comment that the Spring Series will not offer a qualifying spot for the Overwatch League in these regions. This is because the Pro-Am pre-season ends before this tournament.
So the teams that want to qualify for the Contenders must fight for their position in the Open Division; for both regions, this is the only way for the teams.
Starting April 29, the regional competitions will begin where the best teams will fight for a spot and advance to the Contenders.
For these two regions, as well as the Australia, Asia-Pacific, and Korea tournaments, all matches will be broadcast via streaming on the Overwatch Contenders YouTube channel.
