Activision announces more information about season 2 of Warzone 2.0

1. February 2023 by Andrew Williams

Activision has released more information about the additions and adjustments to season 2 of Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0, which begins Feb. 15.

In addition to stability and balance adjustments and bug fixes, a number of features will be added. For example, the 1-to-1 Gulag from the original Warzone is returning. Currently, the battleroyal game only includes a team Gulag in which two players must compete against two others. For the upcoming season, a modified version of the current Gulag map will be used, but Activision promises to release a new map specifically geared toward 1-on-1 battles in the future.

Other tweaks to Warzone 2.0 include a “slightly” lower reward for obtaining contracts, but an increase in the minimum value of money at ground loot and Cash Registers, and the addition of floating loot. This means that loot will drop from the sky in containers starting in Season 2. Also, from now on, players who die will leave their loot on the ground, instead of players having to retrieve the loot from their backpacks. Incidentally, the different backpack sizes have also been banished: everyone will only have access to the smallest variant, so players will no longer hoard mountains of loot.

Additionally, there will be a new, smaller map in the second season, although little information about it has been announced. It is clear, however, that Resurgence mode can be played on it. This returns from the first Warzone and allows players to return after being knocked out. More details about the new weapons that will appear will not be provided until later.
